We are gathering at the beautiful Kempwick Lodge for a day of pure creative freedom. Whether you want to finally finish that canvas you’ve been working on, start a new drawing, or simply wander the woods with your sketchbook, this day is designed for you to exhale and explore.
This isn't a rigid class—it’s a creative escape with art friends!! Set up in Kempwick all day and/or bring your portable table and chair so you can create anywhere on the property…..under a towering pine, by the water’s edge, or inside the rustic charm of the lodge.

New to Nature Sketching? ….
Get started or get unstuck with 2 (optional) workshops. Travel journals and nature sketching are more popular than ever, but staring at a blank page in the middle of the woods can feel overwhelming. Bring your pencil kit and travel sketchbook.
10:30 AM | The Jumpstart: Learn how to simplify what you see into beautiful, gesture-heavy sketches. We’ll take the "fear" out of the horizon line and just get started!
1:30 PM | Strolling Sketch Workshop: Ever wonder how to start when you love everything you see? We’ll wander the property together, learning the secrets of "En Plein Air" sketching—catching the light and the scene in just a few minutes.
The rest of the day belongs to you. Take a kayak out on the water, walk the labyrinth, or enjoy the coziness of Kempwick Lodge, creating at your art station with friends. We’ll end our day together with a fireside dinner and a lively conversation about the heart of being an artist today—why we create, why it matters, and why we do it better together.
