This comprehensive weekend offers three distinct, hands-on training tracks—covering expressive arts, sound healing, and rhythm facilitation—designed for anyone curious about using creative tools to support themselves and others.

Expressive Arts 101: Creative Self-Care Toolkit

Learn the art of facilitation: Art as a wellness tool.

This practical, fun, and interactive session provides you with an inspiring set of easily adaptable creative activities to promote gentle self-care. Learn the fundamentals of facilitation, receive practical setup guidance, and gain a foundational understanding of supportive, trauma-informed language. You will leave with a strong understanding of 10 customizable self-care activities and how to structure a full 1–2 hour creative experience for any group or event.

Sound Healing Foundations: Level One Introduction

Learn the art of vibrational guidance: Sound as a healing tool.

This practical, gentle, and hands-on session focuses on the subtle art of vibrational guidance. Explore the gentle flow created by sacred instruments—gongs, bowls, and drums—and how these frequencies are felt through sensations and the sensory experience. You will gain foundational skills in striking and pacing techniques, and explore what it truly feels like to gently help others heal through sound.

Creative Rhythms™ Facilitator Training Part 1 & 2

Learn the art of rhythm facilitation: Drumming as a community wellness tool.

This two-session training is the full path to your Level One Certification, designed for the curious beginner through to the experienced practitioner.

  • Part 1: Fundamentals (Saturday) focuses on groundwork: learning how to set up a sacred space, foster community, and use instruments specifically for well-being.

  • Part 2: Application and Skill Building (Sunday) focuses on practical application, including mastering simple rhythm breakdowns and understanding the progression to advanced facilitator training (Level 2).

Certification and Alumni:

  • Certification Requirement: Completion of both Part 1 and Part 2 is required to receive the Level One Creative Rhythms Facilitator Training Program Certificate.

  • Alumni & Refreshers: Individuals who have previously completed this training are welcome to attend either Part 1 or Part 2 as a refresher and to gain access to onsite team opportunities.

🌟 Creative Self-Care 101

This training is designed to give you a strong, practical foundation in leading expressive arts through creative self-care activities. It is ideal for anyone who wants to introduce gentle, beneficial creative activities into their events, retreats, or group sessions. Special attention is given to those with little or no prior experience in art-making or group facilitation.

 What You Will Learn:

  • 10 Beneficial Self-Care Activities: Gain a strong understanding of 10 practical and beneficial activities used in creative self-care. These techniques are easily adaptable for various groups and event focuses.

  • Experiential Learning: You will participate in a full, one-hour session of creative self-care, providing you with the direct experience of the techniques you will learn to facilitate.

  • Simple Facilitation Breakdown: Your trainer will break down the steps of facilitation in simple, easy-to-follow terms, guiding a discussion on how to customize and adapt activities for your specific needs as a facilitator.

  • Event Planning & Flow: Learn how to navigate planning a complete 1 to 2-hour creative self-care experience by utilizing 2 to 3 or more activities in a single event, understanding the natural flow of a session.

  • Trauma-Informed Best Practices: Gain essential knowledge about best practices for Trauma-Informed Care and the specific, supportive language used in creative self-care facilitation.

  • Practical Setup & Supplies: Receive guidance on basic setup and supplies, including a helpful list and purchasing resources.

Sound Healing Facilitator Training Level I

The Healing Drum Workshop: The Vibrational Journey: Course Flow

  • Who is this for? This comprehensive workshop is perfect for those curious about facilitation and anyone interested in learning about the gentle, energetic flow that operates behind a facilitated sound bath or sound journey event.

  • The Intent: Four hours dedicated to exploring the profound vibrational healing offered by sacred instruments—the flute, the drum, chimes, singing bowls, and bells—and how these frequencies are felt through sensations, vibrations, and the sensory experience.

1. Understanding Vibrational Medicine:

  • The Focus: Opportunities to comprehend the energetic science behind sound—how frequency, rhythm, and tone interact with the body's subtle and physical systems to create profound healing and rebalancing.

  • Balance: We'll balance the experiential practice with a fundamental understanding of the vibrational healing taking place.

2. Exploring the Sacred Instruments (Experiential Learning):

  • The Flute: Hands-on opportunities to learn how to play the Native American flute, connecting breath and intention to sound.

  • The Gong and Bowls: Participants will have opportunities to help facilitate a gong and bowl healing session, learning proper striking and pacing techniques to maximize therapeutic effect.

3. Facilitation and Co-Creation:

  • The Practice: Opportunities to explore what it truly feels like to create and direct sound that gently helps others heal, moving beyond simply playing music.

🌟Behind the Scenes of Rhythm Wellness

This introductory session is the essential starting point for the Creative Rhythms Facilitator training program. You will first experience a rhythm session led by a certified Creative Rhythms Facilitator Trainer, followed by a complete fundamental breakdown of everything that happens behind the scenes to create a successful and safe rhythm event.

✨ What You Will Learn (Fundamentals):

  • The Experience: Participate in a full rhythm session to ground your learning.

  • Setting the Stage: Master the fundamentals of setting up the physical space for optimal flow and energy.

  • Creating Sacred Space: Learn essential elements for creating a safe and sacred environment that encourages genuine self-expression and connection.

  • Community Building: Explore key elements for hosting a supportive community event that invites people to return again and again.

  • Instruments for Wellbeing: Understand how to use the available instruments specifically for the purpose of fostering well-being, rather than just performance.

🎁 Resources & Recognition:

  • Participants completing this session will receive a Certificate of Participation upon completion of part 1 & 2 Sat & Sun 6 hours total.

Creative Rhythms Facilitator Part 2

  • Prerequisite: Completion of Level 1 on Sunday, or contact Sandra if you have completed any rhythm facilitation training under Creative Rhythms™. Part 1 and 2 can be attended as a refresher for alumni CRFT.

🌟 Overview: Rhythm Mechanics & Facilitator Pathway

Building on the foundations established in Part A, this training focuses on the practical mechanics and skill development required to confidently lead a rhythm wellness event. Completion of both Part A and Part B finalizes your Level One training.

✨ What You Will Learn (Skill Building):

  • Rhythm Mechanics: Learn simple, effective methods for breaking down basic rhythms into accessible steps for any group.

  • Timeline for Facilitation: Understand the clear, step-by-step process and timeline for building your skills and confidence as a rhythm facilitator.

  • Instrument Mastery Timeline: Gain a clear path for continually building proficiency and skill when using the instruments in a group setting.

  • Advancing Your Practice: Discuss the requirements for advancing to the Creative Rhythms Facilitator Training Level Two.

🎁 Program Completion & Benefits:

  • Certificate: Participants completing both Part 1 & 2 will have completed the Level One Creative Rhythms Facilitator Training Program for Rhythm Wellness: Intro to Facilitation.

  • Local Team Option: Graduates of the full Creative Rhythms Facilitator Training Program will have the option to join the local team and gain access to our 300 instruments for on-site use and off-site instrument rental (some restrictions apply; rental fees are not included).
