Dooley ArtZ Fund

How The Money Is Distributed?

Individuals and organizations seeking arts programs focused on building community are encouraged to apply for the Dooley ArtZ scholarship. The board members of Pathfinder Studio and Nature Sanctuary meet monthly and vote on the applicants. Each denied application is rolled over to the following month. The criteria for appicants is based on funding available, capacity for growth and scheduling. All donations (minus 3-5% fees) fund art classes, group workshops and community event for individuals with disabilities.

WHAT PROGRAMS CAN APPLICANTS OBTAIN FUNDING FOR?

Individuals can apply for weekly classes based on a monthly membership fee or a trial of one class. ($20-100). These classes offer instruction in painting and drawing using any medium; any skill level. Based on need and application students may receive one of more months of art classes at Liverpool Art Center. Supplies are included in all membership fees paid for by the scholarship.

Organizations can apply for creative community programs onsite or at Liverpool Art Center: Larger events and workshops offer opportunities for individuals to experience community programs using arts and music making for self care and stress management. Based on the size of the group, applicants will receive $300-500 scholarships funding 90-160 minute programs including all supplies, facilitation and equipment. Criteria for organization recipients’ application approval is based mostly on funding availability and schedule.

Testimonials

“ Every year we look forward to Sandra’s Meditative Painting at Teen Institute. It’s the highlight of the weekend. I’m not sure it would be the same without Sandi there. She just has a way of calming. And I just love painting like that.” ~Nicole /Teen Prevention Network

“The drum training was fun. I loved learning new ways to bring in the community. I can’t wait to learn the arts program with Sandra.” Jared/Anchor Recovery Center

“The best part about the event was that I stopping thinking. My mind races all the time and that causes stress. So when I can just sit and doodle like we learned here? I think I can actually try this at home and in the classroom.” Olivia. CiTi BOCES
